Measurement

1. How do I measure the window for outside mount blinds?

If the window depth is less than 3 inches, we recommend an outside mount.

Step 1:

For measuring the width, measure from one end of the trim, that is the outside edge of the frame, to the other end horizontally at the top. For widths between 96 inches to 110 inches, please contact us.

Step 2:

For measuring the height, measure from the outside top of the window frame to the bottom vertically.

2. How do I measure the window for inside mount blinds?

For an inside mount, you’ll need a window depth of minimum 3 inches.

Step 1:

For measuring the width, measure between the inside surfaces of your window frame/sill horizontally at the top. When measuring make sure to include the fractions (Nearest 1/8 of an inch), ensuring the most accurate measurement. We deduct 5mm or a quarter inch from the width to ensure an easy installation. For widths between 96 inches to 110 inches, please contact us.

Step 2:

For measuring the height, measure from the inside top of the window frame to the bottom of the sill vertically.

3. How do I measure an extra wide window?

There are four options available for measuring an extra wide window.

Option 1:

For accuracy, one person can hold one end while you measure to the nearest fraction on the other end.

Option 2:

If the reading is unclear, take a picture of your reading keeping the measuring tape with the edge of the trim, and save the picture as the window name.

Option 3:

Place the tape measure on the window sill, and measure from one inside end to the other inside end.

Option 4:

In the case of a three-pane window, you can measure from the  Left edge of the window to the middle of the first joint. Then from the middle of the first joint to the middle of the second joint, and then from the second middle joint to the Right edge of the window. This way you can have three blinds. For widths between 96 inches to 110 inches, please contact us.

4. How do I name/ number my windows when measuring multiple windows?

To simplify the identification process, you can name each window after the room it is located in, such as living room, kitchen, bedroom, or master. If there are multiple windows in a room, you can assign a number to each one, such as living room-1, living room-2, and so on. To prevent any confusion, you can label each window with a sticker or a label until the blinds are installed.

5. How do I measure an angled bay window?

Step 1:

Take two pieces of paper and mark them at three inches. Place the pieces of paper on the window sill, one on each side of the bay window corner and against the window frame.

Step 2:

Slide them towards each other until the two marks meet. Mark on the window sill with a pencil at the exact point where the papers meet. Repeat this process for each corner of your bay window.

Step 3:

Now, as you have measuring points, it's time to measure the distance between them and get the width of the blinds you need to order.

Step 4:

For measuring the height, simply measure from the top of the window where you want the blinds to fit, to the window sill for the drop of your blinds.
